Ratex respects your privacy. Except for live network communication needed for currency conversion and Apple in-app purchases, we do not collect, store, or sell your personal information on developer-operated servers.
1. Local storage
To improve your experience, Ratex may save necessary app data on your device, such as your last base currency, target currency list, the most recent exchange rates retrieved, and their dates.
This data stays on your device to help you resume faster the next time you open the app. Deleting the app usually removes this local data as well.
2. Third-party services and information sharing
To provide core features, Ratex uses the following third-party services:
- Frankfurter API: to fetch currency lists and live exchange rate data.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: for Pro purchase, validation, and restore purchases.
When you use rate lookups or in-app purchases, your device communicates directly with these services. Providers may process routine technical information required for networking, such as IP address, request time, and basic device or network metadata. Such information is handled under each provider’s own privacy policy and is not separately collected or stored by the developer.
We do not sell your information to third parties or use it for ad marketplaces or data brokerage, beyond what is necessary for the services above.
3. In-app purchases and restore
Ratex offers a one-time Pro purchase. Purchase, validation, and restore flows are completed through Apple StoreKit.
- We do not process or store your payment card details or Apple account password.
- Whether a purchase succeeded, is pending, or can be restored is determined by information returned by Apple.
- The app enables Pro features only when Apple reports a valid entitlement.
4. Ads, analytics, and tracking
Ratex has no ads, does not use advertising identifiers for ad delivery, and does not track you across apps or websites for advertising.
5. Data retention and deletion
For data stored only on your device, you can usually remove it by deleting the app or clearing the app’s data in device settings.
For information processed by Apple or other third parties in their systems, refer to those providers’ privacy policies and data controls.
6. Your choices and rights
- You may skip Pro and continue using the free tier.
- You can manage purchases and restore purchases through your Apple account and App Store settings.
- You can clear local cached data by deleting the app.
- You can disable network connectivity at the system level to stop new rate requests.
7. Children’s privacy
Ratex does not target children with ads and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information and reduce risks of unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Policy updates
If Ratex later adds accounts, cloud sync, analytics, advertising, or changes third-party providers, this policy will be updated accordingly. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
